This policy explains what personal data Spinta collects, why, and what your rights are. Spinta is a sole trader business based in Canvey Island, Essex, United Kingdom ("Spinta", "we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

The short version
We collect very little. If you fill in our contact form or email us, we get the details you send so we can reply. We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it except with the service providers listed below who help us run the site.
What we collect
When you contact us. If you use the contact form or email us, we collect the information you choose to give us. Typically that is your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message. We only ask for what we need to respond to your enquiry.
When you browse the site. We use PostHog, a privacy-conscious analytics tool, to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are visited and how people move through them. This helps us improve the site. This data is used in an aggregated way and is not used to identify you personally.
We do not collect payment card details through this website. Any payments for our services are handled separately and securely (for example by bank transfer or a payment provider), and card details are never stored by us.
Why we use your data (our lawful basis)
Under UK GDPR we need a lawful basis to process your data. Ours are:
- To reply to your enquiry and provide our services. This is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and, once you become a client, the performance of our contract with you.
- To understand and improve the website. This is our legitimate interest in running a useful, working website. We use analytics in a way that keeps your privacy in mind.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails and messages for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch, then we delete them. If you become a client, we keep records relating to our work and payments for as long as we are legally required to (HMRC requires business records to be kept for six years).
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that help us operate, and only as far as needed:
- Our hosting provider hosts the website.
- PostHog provides our website analytics.
- Our email provider receives and stores enquiries you send us.
These providers process data on our behalf and are bound to keep it secure. Some may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place as required by UK data protection law.
We may also disclose data if we are legally required to, for example by a court order.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies, mainly to make the site work and to power the privacy-conscious analytics described above. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct data that is wrong
- ask us to delete your data
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use it
- ask for your data in a portable format

If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to sort it out first, so please do contact us.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
