Our aim
We build this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we check it as we go rather than at the end.
What we’ve done
- Keyboard: everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring. A “Skip to content” link comes first, and the menu and the enquiry form keep focus inside while they’re open and hand it back when they close.
- Less motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, the opening animation becomes a short fade, and scrolling, reveals and hover effects stay still.
- Structure: each page has one main heading and a logical order of headings, landmarks and labels, so screen readers can move around it.
- Forms: every field has a label, required fields say so, and errors are written in plain words beside the field they’re about and announced to screen readers.
- Images: images that carry meaning have text alternatives, and decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Reading: text can be zoomed to 200% without losing content, and every page works at phone widths without scrolling sideways.
- Without JavaScript: the pages still show all their content, and the enquiry forms fall back to your email app.
What we know isn’t perfect yet
- The opening animation on the home page and some decorative 3D graphics need a modern browser with WebGL. Without it, the page shows plain type instead, with all the same content.
- Some pictures of the websites we’ve built show text inside the image. We describe what matters in the words around them, but the text in the picture itself isn’t readable by a screen reader.
- Some small supporting text, such as the notes under the forms and a few labels, is a lighter grey than the 4.5:1 contrast WCAG asks for. We’re reviewing it.
- Some of our work is shown in short silent videos. They have no audio and are decorative, so they have no captions.
Tell us if something’s wrong
If anything on this site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, email hello@spinta.co.uk. Tell us the page and what happened, and we’ll reply within five working days and fix what we can.
How we test
We test with keyboard-only navigation, zoom and reduced-motion settings, at phone, tablet and desktop sizes, alongside automated checks. This statement was last reviewed on the date at the top.
Enforcement
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) enforces the Equality Act 2010 in Great Britain. If you’re not happy with how we respond to a complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
